After dropping snippets on social media, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have finally released a new collaboration with Ami Faku titled ‘Abalele'. This is Ami Faku’s follow-up track to her hit Lala Ngoxolo’.
‘Milli’ by Shashl is a follow-up to the hit track ‘Ghetto buddies’ which also dropped this year. This new song proves how versatile Shashl is, as she delivers stronger chants on a dancehall beat that was produced by Levels Chillspot. The set takes us through the beautiful views of Zimbabwe and visuals were directed by Vusa “Blaqs” Hlatshwayo.
The final piece to the ‘Nhoroondo’ project is Nherera. Farai Chapoterera and Vusa Blaqs Hlatshwayo take us through a difficult ending sharing how orphans face life challenges on their own. The music and lyrics by Jah Prayzah seamlessly carrying the fullness of the story, one is left in intense suspense wondering the possible future of the children who are left homeless. ‘Nherera‘ is a Shona word that means orphan and the song was produced by Rodney Beatz.
Part 3 of the ‘Nhoroondo’ visual story takes us through mixed emotions from instant happiness to a gradual crescendo of sadness. The script by Farai Chapoterera, under the direction of Vusa Blaqs Hlatshwayo, tells a very familiar Zimbabwean story of how parents migrate to greener pastures living children behind only to visit once in a while. ‘Ndichiyamwa’ took set in a Zimbabwean rural setup and the song was produced by Lizer Classic.
