Nike Risk Everything Launch in Soweto
Last week while conducting my monthly border jumping activities in Joburg I got word that Nike would be holding an event at their Football Training Centre in Soweto.
Not one to pass on the opportunity to try & get some freebies from one of the world's leading sports brands I jumped onto the back of the nearest PUTCO bus & hung precariously from the back window until we arrived in Soweto.
After seeing some kids who were clearly too fast & skilled for their ages engage in training drills we were ushered inside to a viewing room where we were offered free drinks & food. YES FREE. After removing my belt & eating until the caterers refused to give me any more, a marketing exec from Nike gave us a short speech where he spoke of some tournament happening in Brazil which we weren't allowed to mention. (Hint: PUC DLROW AFIF backwards)
He then went on to speak on the campaign NIKE was having around this event - their RISK EVERYTHING campaign. Currently 3 videos have been released, the last of which was premiered at the event.
After which attendees were invited to play full game of 11 on 11 football. All players would be given free Nike Mercurial or Magista boots. In a surprising twist of fate (or my ankle - whichever excuse works) I contracted Lebron like leg cramps & could not participate.

The boys are back! Dan & Phil sit and catch up on a bunch of stuff, they celebrate Zimbabweans opening for Coldplay in Australia, their great experience at the 263 Culture Fest, some stuff about the American election and even touch on Chris Brown's concert in South Africa. It's fun, enjoy!
