Brian Soko Nominated for Another Grammy
Zimbabwe producer Brian Soko along with his production partners Rasool Diaz & Andre Proctor of ‘The Order’ are once again nominated for the 2016 edition of the Grammys to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles February 15th. This year they are nominated under ‘Best Rap Album’ for their work producing three songs on Nick Minaj’s “Pink Print” Album.
Soko revealed, “I am humbled and excited just to be nominated again, our team works extremely hard and we know there are no guarantees in this industry. It is always amazing for a project you contributed on to be recognized at this level.”
No stranger to the red carpet, Soko was nominated under six categories at the 2015 edition for his work on Beyoncé’s multi-platinum record “Drunk In Love” managing to win three Grammy Awards to make him the first Zimbabwean to win a Grammy and youngest African to do so. In his acceptance speech last year Soko dedicated his Grammy awards to the people of Zimbabwe, expressing that he hoped he could be an inspiration.
Soko has been working to expand his production portfolio internationally, working with artists and producers from South Africa, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. In 2015 he produced and featured on a record for South African rapper Chad titled “EFT” as well as Uhuru’s DJ Maphorisa on a record titled “Menina Bonita” with Nigeria’s Runtown which was produced by fellow Zimbabwean Tatenda Kamera.
The boys are back! Dan & Phil sit and catch up on a bunch of stuff, they celebrate Zimbabweans opening for Coldplay in Australia, their great experience at the 263 Culture Fest, some stuff about the American election and even touch on Chris Brown's concert in South Africa. It's fun, enjoy!
