When Kundai Snuck Into the MTV Ridiculousness Launch
It’s been a week since the launch of Ridiculousness Africa was launched in Johannesburg. The show, an Mtv creation in the States has come to Africa to spread its brand of crazy to viewers on the continent. The hosts of the show are Boity Thulo, Thomas Gumede and Basketmouth. The first show aired just after the launch party where the guests were treated to an exclusive viewing of the first episode of the season. For those who aren’t familiar with the show, it is basically an engagement where the hosts and invited celebrity guests give commentary on viral home videos causing a stir on the internet and throw friendly banter towards each other. The first guest was Nasty C and the season premiere was shot in Italy where the guests also got to see some behind the scenes footage of the team in Italy.
The launch was held at Cantare in Montecasino and was well attended by various members of the media and entertainment industry. It was an evening full of laughter, Boity and Thomas have a great chemistry, very brother and sister-like almost, always poking fun at each other and keeping it light for everybody in the room. It would have been nice to see how the entire cast meshes together off-screen but unfortunately Basketmouth was not present. The entertainment was as interesting I will say, I saw a lot of strange things, RIDICULOUS things. One thing I won’t forget very soon is a posse of people in Sumo wrestler suits in roller skates amongst the crowd, they did make it a night we’d talk about for a while.
In the final live episode of the year, Dan & Phil unite with half of lil bro podcast 6Ft Weights to review the biggest stories of the year and give each other an opportunity to revise our takes at the time. What was the best song in the Drake - Kendrick beef? Was Chidimma Adetshina really a victim of xenophobia as we said at first? Are you still mad at Learnmore Jonasi? Anyone walking back what they said about Jay-Z? And a whole lot more in this fun episode, enjoy!
