Big up Bulawayo! Skies rapper Guluva Se7en has released a scorcher of a track that is an ode to his hometown, aptly titled City of Kings. You'll probably catch a Fetty Wap flavour on the hook, but his bars are all about Bulawayo, while on production is Marvin. Guluva Se7en won best newcomer at last year's Zim Hip Hop Awards, though he really has been on his grind for years now. This song will no doubt pick up a whole bunch of radio play, and not just in Bulawayo. Stream/download it below:
The fact that you're on this blog means either you're a connoisseur of the finest things in life, or we caught you with link-bait. Still still, this means we can introduce you to what could be Zimbabwe's R&B future. Her name is Sha-Sha & she was introduced to us by Audius Mtawarira & Yagidojo. Those are some pretty hefty cosigns, and they seem to have stumbled across a diamond. Check out her new track called Miss Independent featuring Bulawayo rapper and current hot topic Cal_Vin.
Bulawayo-born and based Cal_Vin is currently riding a wave of hype bigger than if Obama were to release a mixtape featuring cameo appearances from Kim Jong Il, Margaret Thatcher's hologram and Justin Bieber
In the final live episode of the year, Dan & Phil unite with half of lil bro podcast 6Ft Weights to review the biggest stories of the year and give each other an opportunity to revise our takes at the time. What was the best song in the Drake - Kendrick beef? Was Chidimma Adetshina really a victim of xenophobia as we said at first? Are you still mad at Learnmore Jonasi? Anyone walking back what they said about Jay-Z? And a whole lot more in this fun episode, enjoy!
